Welcome to Britannica
Britannica International School is the longest established British Secondary School in Hungary.
We have also a thriving British Primary School and from September 2010 will offer classes to children from Years 3/4 (7 to 9 year olds) to
Year 13 (17 to 18 year olds.)
The foundation of our educational programme is the English National Curriculum suitably enhanced to
reflect our truly international nature. At the top end of the school, Cambridge International Examinations, IGCSEs and A Levels, provide graduating students with
gold standard diplomas for entry to leading universities around the world including those at Oxford and Cambridge.
In late 2009 the school was successful in its application to become a provisional member of the Council of International Schools.
Within this website, you will gain a flavour of what we believe is a remarkable and unique international school. However, nothing can replace a visit so we invite you personally to come and see us. We look forward to meeting you here!
For more information or to arrange a visit to the school, please contact us by email at our e-mail address (contact at britannicaschool dot hu), or by telephone on (00 36 1) 466 9794."...I admired the staff and teachers at Britannica and the level of positive energy they put into their work. The best aspect of the school for me-and I think I can speak on this for my children also-was the experience of attending a school that is, in fact, an international learning community. The idea of taking students from different countries and creating a school where they can work together is exciting and compelling." - Carolyn Bardos (USA) Former parent of 3 students of Britannica International School.
"...I really enjoyed Britannica. I met lots of people from different cultures and backgrounds; I learnt so many new things about different countries. Britannica is a school which provides great experiences for students, like the winter concert, Spring Festival, Talent show and many other events. School life in Britannica is exciting and eventful. The year I spent in Britannica was one of my best school years ever." - Lisa Lewczenko (UK) Former Year 9 student of Britannica International School.
"...I would like to thank everybody involved in supporting my son, Zoltan during his time at Britannica School. Zoltan had a very good time and he gained more confidence in achieving results in his studies. He speaks very highly of you and deems your school as the highlight of his stay in Hungary." - Dr Nikola Ognyenovits (Parent of a former pupil).
