Dear Parents

Welcome back to Britannica International School after the holidays. I hope you have had a splendid festive season with valuable time spent with family and friends from around the globe.

Meet SLT

I would like to invite you all to a very special Meet SLT, next Wednesday 16th January in the Auditorium, starting at 8.45. As well as the usual opportunity to ask the senior team about any items, suggestions or questions you may have about your experiences as a Britannica parent, we are looking forward to sharing some exciting pictures and plans for the extension building. It would be fantastic to see as many of you there as possible to share in the moment.

New canteen terrace

Another exciting venture that has come to fruition this week, has been the opening of the new terrace area outside the canteen. It has been really good to see students and staff taking advantage of the new facility. It looks great and has added to the pleasant atmosphere to the lunchroom. The extra 40 seats have certainly helped make the area more cozy and comfortable.

Staffing update

It has been a pleasure to welcome two new members of staff to our Primary team at the beginning of the Spring Term.. I am sure that the whole community will extend a warm welcome to Jade Archer and Yvette Kmetty, both of whom will be working in Year 5. I know that they will enjoy the experience of working with our fantastic students. If you are a year 5 Parent and would like to meet them and get to know more about them, there will be the opportunity after school, next Wednesday to meet with them. Further details will be forthcoming directly to Year 5 parents.

Snow

Well, what wonderful week of snow we have had! I have enjoyed several games of snow football on the top yard and I know the students have enjoyed themselves. We always try to remain open unless conditions within school are dangerous. However, as a parent, if you feel that travelling from your home to school represents a danger, please do make a sensible decision on what is best for you and your children. Please contact us if your child is going to be absent.

Have a great weekend

Kind regards

Neil McGarry
