Join us for a cultural celebration at Britannica!

With almost 60 nationalities represented in our school community, International Day is one of our most popular family events each year, featuring a colourful flag parade, brilliant Primary class performances, a vibrant international food court courtesy of our wonderful parents for both Primary and Secondary students, a beautiful showcase of traditional dress, culture and more!

Calling all Parent Volunteers - Your Country Needs You!

Each year, the gym is transformed into a festive celebration where the different countries within our community can showcase some of their finest delicacies, and where our students can sample all these different and yummy foods from all around the globe.

In the past, we managed to have International Days where more than 25 countries were represented! Will this year also be such a success?

Join and let's make this day a great experience for students, staff and parents alike.

If you would like to represent your country and join the fun, please contact Sandra at s.fekete@britannicaschool.hu or search for your country’s community group on Classlist.

If you cannot find your country, you can start your own group. Occasionally, countries join up into regional groups.

Please note that the food court is only open for students and staff, not for parents. So one of the perks of running a stall in the food court is that next to representing your country and being part of the fun, you may sample some of the other countries' delicacies too....!

Schedule

In Primary, parents are invited to watch a morning flag parade at line up on the top playground (08:20), followed by wonderful performances in the auditorium. Primary parents can also enjoy coffee and a chat in the canteen from 08:30 while they wait for the performances, which will take place as follows:

  • Year 1 - 3 Performances | 08:50
  • Year 4 - 6 Performances | 09:40

Then from 10:30, everyone has an opportunity to sample and enjoy our fabulous International Food Court in the gym in their designated time slots! There will be various international-themed activities in class for our Primary students throughout the day.

In Secondary, students participate in the International Discovery Day throughout the day, with a special focus on the work and impact of international charities. During their regular lunch time, Secondary students will also have the chance to visit the International Food Court in the gym.

The school day will finish at 15:30 as usual for all students.
