Dress up as your favourite book character on Thursday, April 2nd!

Our theme for this year's Book Week is 'The Fun of Reading'. Parents and Secondary school children will read to our children in the library in Tatar, Korean, Bulgarian, Latvian, Arabic, & Dutch, to name a few. It will be a great opportunity to share the diverse range of languages and cultures in our community.

We will finish the week (on Thursday!) with the opportunity to dress up as a favourite book character. Throughout the week the children will participate in 'Drop Everything and Read' at any moment! They will need to grab a book and take a reading break no matter what they are doing.

The adventurous reading competition will also take place again this year. The challenge is to take a picture reading in the wackiest, most creative place. We will share the best ones in assembly at the end of the week.

Reading is the gateway skill to school success, and it is so important that we promote reading for fun and practise. Hopefully your children will have found a book they love in our special library session where older children will help to guide book choices and book review activities. Please continue to read with/to your children over the holidays and let's make this a year of reading!
