Secondary News
Welcome to a new half term, I’m struggling to believe we’ve only been back a week but everyone seems refreshed and raring to go after the two week half term, I know I am!
It was lovely to see so many of you yesterday at our parents’ afternoon, it was, as usual, a very positive atmosphere and it was great to get such positive feedback from both the parents and the teachers. This was the first time we have put this event on at this time and I feel it was valuable and not a bad time to do it. If you have any views, let me know.
I’d like to just pass on thanks to two of our parents who regularly create some fantastic displays for the library, last month we had pop star or poet quotations which seemed to be very popular. This month we have song lyrics and mirrors, they are certainly creative ladies so thank you to Vera and Agi.
I am very pleased to be able to let you know we now have in place our Key Stage 5 coordinator, Richard Roberts who will continue to be the Year 12 tutor this year as well as teaching science across all year groups; I am confident he will be a great addition to the secondary leadership team.
Finally, it is hard to keep up with the sports teams at the moment, Mr. Turnbull and his team deserve great credit for the work they are putting in and I know the students are really enjoying taking part. Well done also to the parents who will be getting up this Saturday and next Saturday for very early starts to Bratislava and Vienna. We wish all the teams well and are incredibly proud of their commitment to the school and their team mates – good luck to all!
I think that’s it for this week, quick weather update – it’s not great to be honest!
Have a lovely weekend!
