Les grew up in the small city of East London in South Africa. Les obtained a B.Sc degree with majors Physics (with electronics) and Computer Science before embarking on a journey in industry, working with computers, since 1988. His working career took him into factories, general IT support, supporting clients in industry as well as schools, and back to his alma mater to manage the computer systems there. He entered the world of teaching in 2007, teaching Computer Science to year 9 and year 11 to year 13 students at a boys only school in his home city.
In 2018, Les joined a British international boarding school in Changzhou, China, teaching the British Computer Science curriculum. After 7 years at the same school, he and his wife as well as their two dogs and a cat, ventured to join Britannica International School in Budapest to spread his vast experience further in the international world.
Les loves to spread his wisdom and knowledge with everyone he comes into contact with. In his spare time, he loves cycling to keep fit, especially doing outings of 100km or more. He loves hiking with his wife and walking in nature. If the dogs and cat can come along on these outings, they will be there too!
