Steve started his career in 1998 as a Mathematics teacher in Cardiff, Wales, before moving into international education, where he has held a range of senior leadership positions across the UAE, Indonesia, Hungary, France and Thailand. During his career he has served as Deputy Head, Head of Sixth Form, Acting Head of Secondary, Head of High School and Deputy Director of Studies, leading school improvement, curriculum development, inspection readiness, safeguarding and academic achievement.
Prior to joining Britannica, Steve held leadership roles at the British School Al Khubairat in Abu Dhabi, the British School Jakarta, the British International School Budapest, the International School of Nice and King's College International, Bangkok. He is passionate about developing high performing teams, evidence informed teaching and creating the conditions in which students can thrive both academically and personally.
Outside of school, Steve enjoys spending time with family and friends and keeping active. A keen sportsman, he has completed an Ironman triathlon, cycled around Lake Balaton and tackled several Alpine cycling climbs. He is also an enthusiastic baker, enjoys supporting school co-curricular activities and has volunteered with local charitable initiatives supporting the homeless.
