Britannica International School was founded in 1996 by a group of distinguished educationalists. Britannica opened its doors as the first English secondary school in Budapest with full accreditation from the Hungarian Ministry of Education and the UK Qualifications and Curriculum Authority. Since then student and staff numbers have grown steadily.
Britannica was originally located on the Buda side of the city in a school built in the 1960s but following ownership by one of the UK’s leading international education providers, Orbital Education, in 2011 the school moved into an award-winning, custom-designed school building complex situated in a quiet green area in the Buda Hills, the prestigious residential area of District XII.

We really appreciate all the teachers' help and we are glad that we had been part of the Britannica community."
