Dear Parents

Welcome to the last Newsletter of the Spring Term. It has been an extremely busy last few weeks and due to the late Easter, the summer term promises to be action packed!

Summer uniform: School Photographs

This is quite an unusual request. Normally, as a staff, we occasionally need to remind students to wear the uniform appropriately. However, this year, due to the late Easter break, we have switched to the summer uniform before the holidays. Despite this, many of our students have continued to wear their ties and blazers this week! We have no problem with this generally but can I request that on Tuesday 16th April and Tuesday 30th April all students wear the summer uniform. On these dates, we will be having the class photographs. These will be available to buy during the summer term and also be used in our annual yearbook. A reminder that should you need further uniform, it is available online through our school supplier, ISUS. Of course, Angela may also be able to help out after school on a Wednesday. Her location is the Primary corridor from 3.30 onwards.

Busy first week back after the holidays

The first week back after the holidays see a number of important events. On Tuesday 30th, as well as the photographs, we have our graduation ceremony for Year 13. This is always a momentous occasion in any students life as they officially finish school to prepare for their A Level exams before moving on to university. I am already looking forward to the event.

Wednesday 1st May is a bank holiday in Hungary and the school will be closed.

Saturday 4th May is our annual Spring Fayre. Our fantastic PSA team are working very closely with the school to ensure the event runs smoothly. A reminder of the timings is below:

9.30 Registration for students

9.30-10.00 Set up of stalls

10-1pm: Stalls ongoing

10:00 Opening of event, performance by school orchestra

11:00 Interlude 1: Music from the school choir

11:45 Interlude 2: Music from individual student performers or small ensembles

12.30 Raffle draw: NM/PSA Committee, far end of Playground

Final reminder before the deadline

Thank you to the 323 families who have confirmed their intentions for the next academic year. This is really helpful to support our class planning and transition activities. If you have not yet done so, please can I request this is completed before the May 1st deadline? After this point, we cannot guarantee places for the next academic year. We are all aware of the huge demand for places at Britannica, so I would recommend reserving one as soon as you can. A further consideration is that after May 1st, should you give your intention to leave, according to contracts, your deposit is non-refundable.

Happy holidays!

I would like to wish everyone at Britannica a wonderful Easter break. I am hoping that the weather will be pleasant and we can all unwind and spend some time with family and friends. A reminder that school finishes at 2.30pm on Tuesday 16th April and we return at 8.20 on Monday 29th April.

Kind regards

Neil McGarry
