Last day of Term 3

It has been a busy week in Primary with a trip in Year 1, a visit from a film crew and the Key Stage assemblies. There’s still been lots of time for lovely learning in class too.

Class News Year 3 rather enjoyed playing bones bingo. Please see the gallery for their obvious delight during the game!

Despite the weather, Year 1 had an amazing time at Budakeszi Vadaspark. Please see the gallery for pictures.

David and Mohammed made the tallest tower ever recorded in Late Pick Up. Please see the photo of their proud moment in the gallery!

In Year 4 they have been creating tessellated patterns – please see the gallery for pictures.

Parent Portal

It’s nice to see more parents exploring what the Parent Portal has to offer! The class teachers have been sharing some useful links in their weekly communication. I hope you find this helpful.

On the Parent Portal, you can check that all of your contact information is up to date and request changes if it is not.

To access this information, click on the Communication tab and select My Contact Information.

Please do take the time to explore the Parent Portal and ask for help from me if you are having trouble registering your account.

If you have further suggestions on what information you would like us to share, do let me know!

You can find the parent portal link on the school website homepage.

Movie Casting Opportunity

In October and November this year, filming will commence of a Budapest feature film. The film is American director Jamin Winans’s new project and they are looking for a 7-10 year-old English-speaking boy for one of the parts. The child would not need to have any previous acting experience (although it is of course not a problem if he does).

The film’s producer, Kiowa Winans has worked out a schedule that would allow for the child to be on set mostly on weekends and holidays. She will be able to discuss the role, casting process and schedule in more detail, if you are interested.

If you are interested in your son auditioning, parents can contact Kiowa directly at kiowa@doubleegefilms.com for instruction on either a self-taped audition or in-person interview, whichever the family would be more comfortable with.

Assessment Fortnight

Over the next couple of weeks, all of Primary will be participating in the online assessments and writing assessments which will enable them to showcase all of the lovely learning they have been doing this year. We do not believe in putting pressure on our young children and these are by no means high-stakes test! We just ask our children do the best they can and we will use the results to celebrate their learning, progress, and give their teachers next year some targets for learning.

You can see the timetable for testing below and can ask your children all about it afterwards.

The best thing to do from home is what you always do: read with your child, talk about books, ask about homework and school activities (look at the weekly communication email or learning menu for what they have covered if your child is unresponsive about what they have been learning!) and make sure the children get enough sleep and a good breakfast.

Mural Painting

You will have received a letter today regarding the mural painting that starts on the 3rd June. We are very excited to be developing the Pirate’s Cove and recreating ‘Pirates Love Underpants’ in our pirate-themed play area.

We would love for you to be involved in the project if you are keen – no need to be an expert, just bring your enthusiasm! Please contact me if you would like to give some time to paint and participate in this lovely activity.

Assembly

This week, was Key Stage assemblies, led by our Key Stage Coordinators. KS1 focused on reviewing our year so far and what we have most enjoyed. KS2 assembly focused on resilience and not giving up.

We also did some one-minute meditation with Ms Corrighan and Ms Bilski and congratulated our Stars of the Week.

Many congratulations to all children who appeared in the merit book. Check out the Britannica Facebook page for photos of assembly.
