It has been a busy week in Primary with trips in Year 1 and 4, a special visitor from Capsul Farm for Year 2 and a Class Representative meeting. There has been time for lots of lovely learning in class too.
Class News
Year 1 had a wonderful trip to the Tropicarium. It was a fun-packed day and a great way of bringing their topic ‘Under the Sea’ to life! So much fun was had, that some of our little ones needed a small nap on the bus back to school! Please see the gallery for pictures (of the Tropicarium, not the naps!)
Year 3 Stour have been busy and excitedly preparing for their class assembly and presenting their beautiful Space projects. Please see the gallery for pictures.
Year 4 had a wonderful trip to the Tutankhamun exhibit as part of their ‘Ancient Egypt’ topic. It was incredible to see all the artifacts and Year 4 had a wonderful time. Please see the gallery for pictures.
Year 6 have been presenting to Year 13 about leadership roles and political systems. They presented on the roles of a dictator, president, monarch and gave a speech about the political party that they had developed. Their knowledge and vocabulary were impressive and they were able to draw upon their drama skills, where they have been working on monologues with Ms Bogi. Well done, Year 6! Please see the gallery for pictures.
Ugly Christmas Jumper Fun Run
Please note that on Sunday at 10.20, many of the community will be meeting at Margit Island (Arpad bridge side, near carpark and the workout area) for the Ugly Christmas Jumper Fun Run! It is 5.3km of running or walking, and is free except a donation of Christmas gifts (in a shoebox) for disadvantaged children. Please let Eva Kiss know if you can participate!
Dental Checks
This week, Dr Orsolya visited Britannica to check the teeth of our children, with the exception of the families who opted out of the service.
Erring on the side of caution, parents may receive a recommendation to investigate an issue further with your family dentist.
If you do not have a family dentist, Dr Orsolya accepts children with a Taj card, where they can get treatment free of charge.
If you do not have a Taj card and you are unsure how to get one, please check the services section of the Parent Portal for details of how to apply.
Parent Portal
The Parent Portal continues to be a good way to access a wealth of resources to help you understand what your children are doing at school, plus what you can do at home to help them.
Some parents have suggested that we add extra resources for helping with Maths homework so I have added 100 squares, number fans, times table tests, number lines and a multiplication square into the curriculum area of the portal. You can find them at the below pathway:
School Information – Document and Files – Curriculum – Mathematics – Maths Homework Help
I hope these are useful and many thanks to the request from parents to include it!
As always, if you find any information missing or unclear, do either let me or your class representative know so we can continually improve what we communicate and do.
Assembly
This week, assembly was a wonderful celebration our students and all of their achievements and talents outside of the classroom, run by Miss Roberts. We are blessed with some talented children!
Many congratulations to all of our stars of the week - you can find their pictures and reasons for receiving them in the display in reception.
Congratulations also for those children who appeared in the Merit Book – please feel free to flick through the golden pages; the book is stored outside the Primary Office and parents are encouraged to take a look – it does make your children proud!
