Good morning!
It’s snowing again this morning!
Well it’s been a busy week in secondary. We started the week with a very powerful Holocaust Assembly from Mr. Bannan and Ms. Sergeant, always important to help students remember and reflect.
I was really pleased to see so many parents and students for our Year 9 options event, a really important part of Year 9s school life, the first time they really get to make some choices about their futures. I really hope the event was helpful and I am grateful that so many parents were able to take time about of no doubt very busy lives to spend a couple of hours with us.
I was also delighted to see a full gym for about 3 hours yesterday with parents coming to talk about their children’s progress. It feels like quite a long way into the academic year to have our parents meetings and we are going to look at next year to see how we get this a little earlier. I managed to speak to quite a few parents and many of my teachers and I feel that we are getting a lot of things right which is very encouraging. I am not complacent however and I know we still have room for improvement in a number of areas and I can assure you we will continue to work towards being a centre of excellence for secondary students.
