Welcome to Secondary news

At the risk of being dull, it’s just been a really good week in secondary, there is a lovely atmosphere with students engaged with their learning. The sofa’s are proving a big hit, particularly with the younger students and the older students are certainly taking advantage of the weather and enjoying the newly refurbished roof terrace. Long may the sun shine on them!

We had planned to carry out our CAT4 tests with the Year 7 and Year 10 students next week but are delaying that by a couple of weeks. It gives us a chance to make sure all the new students are settled in and ensures minimal disruption to classes.

ECAs begin on Monday, I hope you have all taken the opportunity for your children to take part in a range of really interesting clubs and activities.

Thank you all for your support with laptops and tablets – I think almost every student in Years 7, 8 & 9 have one and I’m seeing them being used really effectively in classrooms which is great and a significant improvement. We are slowly getting all the lockers wired up to charge the devices. Three classes were competed this week and we should have all the lockers charging by half term.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend!
