Welcome to Secondary news

Well, I certainly feel like Autumn is arriving, definite change in atmosphere and temperature. Fortunately inside school the atmosphere remains productive and focused. We have been conducting a lot of learning walks this week and it’s been great to see such a lot of active learning going on in classrooms; we know students learn so much more effectively when they are actively engaged in their learning. We are really focusing on this in the Secondary school this year and I hope students are coming home excited and enthused at the end of the day!

It’s great to see that sports teams are going out to BISB and the American school next week, well done Mr. Turnbull and Mr. Roberts and other colleagues, I’m sure you’ll join me in wishing both girls and boys teams well; I know the taking part is really important, but it would be great to win as well! I’ll update you with results next week.

Just a reminder about uniform, polo shirts should have the school badge on them, otherwise they aren’t uniform. As it is getting a little cooler, it’s fine for children to keep a school jumper on during the day if they wish, but no hoodies (EVER!) please. Thanks for your support, it is fantastic when 95% of parents and students get this right, 100% would be a dream come true!

I hope you all have a lovely weekend!
