Welcome to Secondary news

As Monday was April Fool’s day, it was left to Mr. Markolt and 9B to entertain us with the history of the day and why it’s become popular. It was also an opportunity for Mr. McGarry to use his acting skills to encourage the students to believe that Mr. Markolt was abandoning his career as a PE teacher to use his degree in astrophysics to join the science department. Fortunately for us, we still be able to have Mr. Markolt as our head of PE next year!

This week we had some lovely visitors from the Christian International School of Budapest who were taking part in a poetry recital with some of our students from Year 6 through to year 12. It was a lovely, if brief, event and even though there were prizes in each of the age categories, the taking part and performing sets all the students up as winners. We hope to build on this next year to make this an event with schools from across the city. Thank you to Ms. Sergeant for organising this event, there is always a lot of unseen work that goes into this kind of activity.

Don’t forget, we’ll be switching to our summer uniform on Monday 8th April! All the details are on the website and we have a uniform shop on a Wednesday – be prepared!

Have a great weekend!
