Welcome to Secondary news

This has been another busy week, on Monday, Year 8 went on a trip to the Gödöllő royal palace to see the place where Emperor Franz Joseph and his wife, Empress Elizabeth used to spend their holidays in Hungary. The teams of students were working on their various projects related to life in the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy and the iconic figure of Sisi in Hungarian culture.

This was also the week where we formally say goodbye to our Year 13 students who are currently sitting their A levels, of course we wish them well. The graduation ceremony was a really collective whole school affair with all younger classess giving gifts and pearls of wisdom to our senior students. We are very hopeful of a great set of results in the summer and we know that are students are going to go to some excellent universities on the back of these results.

As I write this, we are all keeping an eye on the weather for tomorrow’s Spring Fayre, I hope we see lots of our secondary parents there.

Finally, just a reminder about the summer uniform – it’s officially summer at Britannica so we expect to see all students wearing this. Here’s the guide:

Summer Uniform (from mid-April to October half term):

Polo shirts, Sweatshirts and Blazers:

• White polo shirts with the school logo on should be worn instead of the School shirt and tie.

• Sweatshirts and blazers should be worn as per the winter uniform policy.

Skirts, Trousers, Shorts and Belts:

  • Navy blue tailored shorts may replace the trousers and/or skirts of the winter uniform.
  • Skirts, trousers and belts should be worn as per the winter uniform policy.

Socks, Tights, Shoes, Jewellery:

• Should be worn as per the winter uniform policy.

There must be NO LOGOS - except the one of Britannica – names, slogans or designs on any clothing worn in school.

No scarves, hoodies or outdoor clothing should be worn in lessons or in and around school after morning registration.

Have a great weekend!
