Anti-Bullying week is a special time in the school when we raise awareness about bullying and promote actions against it through spark conversations, school assemblies and community events.
One of our values at Britannica is ‘Respect’ which has fitted in well with this year’s theme for Anti-Bullying Week which is 'Choose Respect'.
Over the last couple of days, we discussed the importance of treating each other with respect. Children learned that bullying is unkind, intentional and repeated and also involves an imbalance of power.
In Primary, children took part in activities to discuss what they should do if they see bullying, or if they find themselves a victim. Each key stage created artwork, poetry and raps to promote a culture of anti-bullying.
Pupils in Secondary have taken part in debates, looked at poems, considered different bullying scenarios and raised awareness of the issues by creating posters.
Our Anti-Bullying Week was concluded with a fantastic assembly where our Year 6 classes performed a popular rap song to encourage students to stand up against bullying. Anti-bullying actions in the school involve a commitment to create a safe and happy learning environment where children can thrive both socially and academically.

Odd Socks Day
On Tuesday that week, everyone came to school wearing odd socks to school to symbolize how we are all different and unique. On Odd Socks Day we encourage children to express themselves and to use this opportunity to celebrate their individuality.
