MONDAY: Conference Day 1
Catch a glimpse of the energy and excitement from the first day of our conference!
Today, we started Day One of the Orbital MUN Conference with the Opening Ceremony. Naomi, a student at the British International School of Ljubljana and Secretary-General of the conference, along with Ema, the Deputy Secretary-General, gave an inspiring speech to begin the event. We were also honored to hear insightful words from Mrs. Simona Leskovar, Director of the Bled Strategic Forum and a career diplomat with over 20 years of experience in Slovenian diplomacy.
We continued with Committee Icebreakers, where students got to know each other by playing creative games such as building pyramids with marshmallows, pantomime, quizzes, and the "Whose Story?" game.
In the afternoon session, our delegates actively engaged in further discussions on the four key topics, building on the debates from the morning. Throughout the session, they participated in both moderated and unmoderated caucuses, allowing for structured exchanges as well as more dynamic, informal discussions. This provided them with the opportunity to delve deeper into the issues at hand, refine their arguments, and collaborate with fellow delegates to explore potential solutions.
TUESDAY : Conference Day 2
From final sessions to well-earned awards, Day 2 wrapped up in style.

About the Conference
The Model United Nations (MUN) Conference is an educational simulation where students take on the roles of United Nations delegates to debate global issues and seek solutions through diplomacy and negotiation. This immersive experience is designed to foster critical thinking, public speaking, collaboration, and leadership skills, all while enhancing students' understanding of international relations and current affairs.
Over three inspiring days, students will step into these roles, representing nations and viewpoints in a professional and structured environment. Participants will be divided into four committees, each focusing on a significant topic shaping the world today. Here are this year's topics with the specific issue that each committee will focus on:
Topic 1: Animal Testing
To what extent should animal testing be used to develop vaccines and drugs in the case of new pandemics?
Topic 2: Immigration
Do countries have the right to deport refugees?
Topic 3: Nuclear Energy
Should countries be allowed to develop nuclear energy independently, or should it be a globally regulated resource under the UN’s control?
Topic 4: Artificial Intelligence in Warfare
To what extent should individual countries be held accountable for the use of AI in warfare?
This year’s conference provides an unparalleled opportunity for students to engage with global issues while developing their confidence, teamwork, and diplomatic skills in the stunning setting of Bled, Slovenia.
