It has been a busy week in Primary with class parties, Year 6 Production, Prize Day assembly and Britannica’s Got Talent. There’s still been lots of time for lovely learning in class too.
Class News The Year 3s presented their creations and designs in the Inventions Fayre on Wednesday. There were so many great ideas and they loved looking at each other’s. Classes from other year groups also came to have a look. Well done, Year 3! Please see the gallery for pictures.
Over the past two weeks, we have had Mesélő Hetek, Hungarian Storytelling Weeks. Staff members, parents and peers visited primary lessons to tell stories in Hungarian. Children really enjoyed these specially occasions, so thank you very much to everybody involved! We hope to have you visit again next year! Please see the gallery for pictures.
Lockdown Practice
Please note that we had a Lockdown drill this week. This is to ensure we are prepared, safe and know what to do in an emergency situation. This Lockdown was unannounced so staff and children were not aware of when it would take place.
The staff and children all knew what to do and behaved very sensibly. Well done!
Reports and assessment Workshop
Many thanks to those of you who attended the Reports and assessment Workshop on Tuesday. You should have received a pdf copy of the workshop by email. I hope that this is useful and answers any questions you may have regarding reports.
Reports
Today, please look in your child’s bag for their end of year report. All Primary reports were given out today and, included in the pack, is a guide for how to interpret the report and also the Progress Tests in English (PTE) and Progress Tests in Maths (PTM) reports and guidance letter. You will also find a reflection of the year from your child.
If you have any questions about your child’s achievements and progress, please contact your child’s class teacher directly. If you have any general queries, please contact me.
Year 6 Production
Huge congratulations must go to the Year 6 team of children, plus Mr G, Miss G, Ms Csilla and Miss Fanni and Miss Eva for their amazing work on the Year 6 Production. A special congratulation must go to our director extraordinaire, Mr G. His passion and dedication shone through clearly in the amazing performances by our young pirates children. Well done to everyone involved!
Class Representatives 2019/20
If you are interested in being a Class Representative next year, please email me to express your interest. Having discussed with our parent group last week, we would like to secure these by Meet the Teacher in September so that we can start the year already set with our group. I hope many of you offer to be involved in school life next year as it has been wonderful to work with such a dedicated and caring group this year and they have really made an impact. Thank you Class Reps!
Sad Goodbyes, Warm Hellos
It is with sadness that we wish Miss Archer and Mrs Kmetty farewell this academic year. Both are moving on for personal reasons, as communicated to the new Year 5 parents. We wish them all the best!
Happily, we welcome Mrs Lorna Robertson who hails from Manchester, having worked in Egypt, Tunisia and Doha. She is a Literacy specialist and brings with her a wealth of experience and knowledge.
Assembly
This week, assembly was the Prize-Giving end of year assembly where we celebrated the achievements, effort and citizenship of our wonderful children. We are so proud of the progress that all of our children have made and we hope that you can celebrate the reports and feel as proud as we do!
We also thanked the house captains and members of our community for their time and support this year. The Choir and some musicians (Hanna, Y4 Taw, Alicja, Y6 Tyne and Parmida Y5 Teme) also featured.
